but parading your sign and your chants in front of a dozen news crews outside a DC fed courthouse is not the way to avoid detection, and not what i believe any of these protestors wanted.
from a tv news crewmember, some better ideas to be anonymous while still raising your voice:
1) wear a mask. solid way to avoid recognition.
2) if you want to give a vox pop to a news crew, just tell them you’re not ready to use your full name. it might be that they say “no we can’t accept that,” move on. we still have a job to do.
3) don’t attend protests. i’m actually serious about this, protesting should not be anybody’s #1 method of improving this world, and i’m immediately suspicious of anybody for whom it is. donating or volunteering goes much farther than any broll or voxpop chants on tv news.
